You will enter enable mode and you will see at the beginning of the Router# screen.<\/li>\n<li>Type <strong>configure memory<\/strong> or <strong>copy startup-config running-config<\/strong> to copy the saved configuration to the running configuration. IMPORTANT: Do not enter the copy running-config startup-config or write commands. These would overwrite the settings we had on the router.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the following configure terminal commands. Then it will appear in the hostname(config)# router<\/li>\n<li>Type <em>enable secret<\/em> followed by the password. Example: <em>enable secret cisco<\/em>.
